QBB Architects is a long-standing & well-established architectural practice based in the Portobello area of Dublin City, with over 40 years of experience, offering a range of consultancy services in Architecture & Planning, the practice is managed by Cormac Buggy & Criostóir Ó Raghallaigh.
We care about our clients and work hard to make sure that the buildings we design suit their requirements. We like to listen to our clients & find solutions to problems.
Our designs are modern & contemporary, but not tied to any in-house styles or pre-determined ideas. We have a track record that demonstrates a commitment to listen to our clients’ needs, to design buildings that function efficiently & meet budgetary constraints but also create spatial experiences that lift the spirit and enrich the daily lives of the building users.

Cormac Buggy
MANAGING DIRECTOR FRIAI B. ARCH MSc. (Spatial Planning)
Cormac is an award-winning Registered Architect, Planner & RIAI-accredited PSDP with more than 40 years’ experience in private & public sector project in the residential, education, conservation, commercial, hotels, sport & leisure & community sectors. Cormac has further qualifications in Conservation, has undertaken projects in Ireland, UK, USA and Spain, and has served as a member of the RIAI Examinations Board.
Criostóir Ó Raghallaigh
DIRECTOR MRIAI PG Dip. Proj. Mgmt. Dip. Arch. Tech. PSDP
Criostóir is a Registered Architect & RIAI-accredited PSDP with further qualifications in Project Management & Architectural Technology. Having worked in Ireland, UK & Germany, he has over 30 years’ experience in various sectors such as education, retail, commercial, residential, and has responsibility for developing practice management structures, setting up in-house quality control systems to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Alan Donoghue
SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST Dip. Arch. Tech. Dip. Proj. Mgmt. ACIAT
Alan has been with us since 2022 as our Senior Architectural Technologist and has over 20 years’ experience in Ireland & Australia in the residential, commercial & education sectors. Alan is also our BIM lead & carries out regular inspections to assess the quality & compliance of our on-site projects.
James Carey
GRADUATE ARCHITECT B. ARCH MArch
James joined the QBBA team after graduating from University College Dublin’s MArch programme in 2023 and has a particular interest in the residential and education sectors. Having previously spent time working & studying in Dublin & Oslo, James has gained valuable experience in how to engage with current issues & design creative solutions.
